The girl who sang with Bryan
The memories of those 10 minutes will be etched in her mind forever.
Just like everyone else in the crowd, architecture student Cheetu Mishra of BN College of Architecture, was super excited on seeing Bryan Adams live, when the artiste performed in the city on Friday. But what happened with her was a dream come true.
She was chosen out of thousands of fans, to come up onstage and sing with him.

In a state of bewilderment and frenzy, Mishra made her way to the stage, first touching Bryan’s feet and taking him aback, and then giving him a big hug. Turning her joy into an opportunity, Mishra performed a rocking duet with Bryan on Baby when you’re gone, which he had sung with Spice Girl, Melanie C. But that was not it. Bryan asked her if she had a boyfriend, and Mishra replied instantly, “No, I don’t have one. Are you interested?” Speaking to us after the concert, Mishra said, “I just can’t believe all this happened. I am in another world.” When asked about her impromptu proposal, Mishra replied, “It was a spur-of-the-moment thing. I was overwhelmed to be standing next to him.”
After the performance, as the rest of the audience made their way to the exit, many of her friends and well-wishers came and congratulated her and most others gave her jealous stares. As her friends teased her, calling her a star, an obviously elated Mishra said, “I love all of Bryan’s songs. I know them by heart. I also sing for my college band, and I have performed the song before. Given another chance, I would have loved to sing Run to you, Inside out and Let’s make a night to remember.” As a token of his affection, Mishra and her friends were given T-shirts from the star. “It felt so awesome to get something from Bryan. I will cherish it always.” With the kind of opportunity she got, Cheetu is already a star and we know that she’ll remember this night always!
